How we work | Marble processing
Marble processing has ancient origins, dating back thousands of years. The artisan craftsmanship of the stone industry has always been recognised and appreciated around the world.
At JIMEI,we take raw stone, transforming it into unique and exclusive products by combining proprietary technology and techniques with the expertise and human touch of our team of artisans.
Producing it is not as easy as you might think, but requires a great knowledge of the material and artisanal craftsmanship techniques.
But what are the steps in this production?
Design&Technical team
The technical team carefully follows every single detail to ensure high-level products and meticulously finished projects.
We operate with technical software and 3D printing prototyping and we create realistic renderings or photomontages to help us choose the best shape, material or configuration, or simply to help us imagine how the work will be once completed.
Material selection
The process starts with the raw marble as the block must be carefully chosen and selected. Only an expert eye knows how to assess any possible, even minor, structural defects that may undermine the work.
Cutting the block
Once block examined and carefully chosen, it is necessary to proceed to the cutting of the marble block, through the so-called sawing process.The block is cut with a single blade saw or wire cut and the block is obtained with the overall dimensions.
When cutting blocks, we carefully emphasize both the mechanical and aesthetic sides, in particular qualities such as veins and researched designs.
Carving shape
Each product, carved from a single block of marble, the CNC, give the shape to the product, combining several numerically controlled machines such as the Lathes to complete the process. Of course, a good dose of skilful manual labour.
Handcrafted Polishing
Grinding, honing, polishing are done in the marble polishing process.There is no machine that can decide at which point a piece of stone reaches each of the finishes we want. Instead, this is where the human touch, experience and an eye for aesthetics come into play.
Quality control
Every single product passes through the hands of our team for finishing and a final quality check.
Obviously, without quality to back it up, it would be nothing. So I think it’s that perfect package of quality and design. At JIMEI we live by both these principles. Every product is checked by hand before it leaves us, and of course it has to be beautiful!
Packaging
“sustainability in packaging”
Once the product is completed, we dedicate extreme care to the packaging and shipping phases to minimize the risk of problems. JIMEI all products are packaged by recycled protective EPE form and carton box.
We are passionate about every step in the process that goes into creating our products. It starts with the materials we choose, seeking out the very best natural stone, and the same meticulous care is shown as we cut, finish, clean and check each piece before it leaves our factory. Our products may look effortless once you see them stand your desk, or installed in a gorgeous bathroom, but behind them is a wealth of experience, know-how and sheer perfectionism.
